Cory Myers

Cory Myers, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend, passed away on December 21, 2024, at the age of 45. Born on September 13, 1979, in Del Norte, Colorado, Cory was raised in a family deeply connected to the agricultural heart of the San Luis Valley. He spent his life dedicated to the land and the legacy of hard work instilled in him by his father, Gerald Myers.

Cory was a graduate of Center High School, class of 1998, and furthered his education at Northeastern Junior College and Colorado State University, earning a Bachelor's Degree that would serve him well in his self-employed agricultural pursuits. After graduation from CSU, he made his dream come true by purchasing into the family farm, where he worked alongside his father, Gerald, in a business rich in tradition and resilience.

On January 20, 2007, Cory married the love of his life, Brandy Olsen, in Craig, Colorado. Together, they built a beautiful family, welcoming three wonderful sons: Coulter, Corbin, and Colsen. Cory's love for his family was boundless; he cherished every moment spent with them, whether snowmobiling in the mountains, exploring in his Razr, or sharing invaluable lessons about the farming business. He approached life with enthusiasm, finding joy in each adventure.

Cory was not only a committed family man but also a dedicated member of his community. He served as a former board member for United Potato and was an active participant in organizations such as the Colorado Potato Administrative Committee (CPAC) and the Colorado Certified Potato Growers Association (CCPGA). His passion for agriculture extended to his involvement in 4H, where he mentored his boys and shared his profound knowledge of livestock and farming.

Known for his honesty and straightforwardness, Cory was a genuine soul who loved deeply and unconditionally. If ever needed, he was there to lend a helping hand, embodying the true spirit of compassion. He nurtured the hearts and minds of those around him, always encouraging growth and learning.

Cory is survived by his loving wife, Brandy; his treasured sons, Coulter, Corbin, and Colsen his father, Gerald (Nina) Myers; his brother, Brad (Brittany) Myers; his aunts and uncles, Kit and Nancy Greenbaum, Caren and Dave Graham, Duane and Cheryl Fransen his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Zane and Rena Olsen and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Vickie Myers, and his grandparents, Don and Shirley Myers, and Jack and Billie Jean Shrewsbury.
