Danae Alspaugh

On January 6th, 2025, Eythel “Danae” Alspaugh (Bates) passed away at the age of 67. Danae was born in Levelland, TX on March 4, 1957 to Jimmy & Patricia Bates. She was married to Perry Alspaugh on June 28, 1984 in Del Norte, CO. 

Danae and her husband Perry worked hard on building a life in La Garita, CO. Together they ran an outfitting business and loved sharing their mountain life with friends and family. Though Danae’s health was a struggle for years, her joy for her grandkids kept her pushing through. 

Danae is survived by her husband Perry Alspaugh, son Nathan Goddard (Lisa Goddard), daughter Autumn Squires (Waylon Squires), mother Patricia Bennett, brother Robby Bates, sister Jimmy Sue Smith, and grandchildren. 

The family will be doing a private celebration of life for her. She will be put to rest, joining her father Jimmy Bates, sister Pam Crossno, daughter Shannon Weeth, and grandparents Ford & Eythel Davis in Creede, CO.
