Gloria Fender

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gloria Nancy Fender, born on March 3, 1953, in Monte Vista, Colorado. Gloria left this world peacefully on January 17, 2025, at the age of 71.

Gloria was a free spirit, whose adventurous and brave soul led her to explore life in a way that was uniquely her own. A devoted homemaker, she was dedicated to creating a warm and nurturing environment for her family, which was always her highest priority. Gloria had a remarkable sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew her, and her easy-going nature made her a beloved presence in the lives of her loved ones.

An avid puzzle enthusiast and an aspiring artist, she found joy in painting and expressing herself creatively. Her spirit for adventure reflected a life filled with cherished memories, laughter, and love.

She is survived by her beloved grandson, Desmus Valdez, as well as her cherished siblings: brother Andy (Judy) Maestas, sister Adella (Denis) Mares, sister Josie Jaramillo, sister Elizabeth (Jeff) Ross, and brother Jose Maestas, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Gloria's legacy of love will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Cremation was selected and a service will be held this summer, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Gloria's vibrant life and remember the joy she brought to all. Details regarding the time and location of the ceremony will be shared in due course. In the spirit of Gloria's love for family and friends, we invite all who knew her to join in honoring her memory and sharing in the stories that brought smiles to our faces.

Gloria Nancy Fender will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit continues to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Gloria was preceded in death by: her husband, Thomas Fender, her parents, Filadelfio Maestas and Maria Maestas,her son, Frank Valdez and her brothers, Danny Maestas, Sam Maestas, Richard Maestas.
