Lawrence married the love of his life Esperanza "Epi" Sanchez on January 5, 1953 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Antonito.  The two celebrated over 50 years of marriage.

A proud veteran, Lawrence retired from the United States Air Force after serving as a Missile Systems Inspector for the 3901st Strategic Missile Evaluation Squad. He was known for his strong work ethic and adventurous spirit, often finding joy in traveling the world. His passion for travel took him to many remarkable places, but it was the quiet moments shared with his family that truly brought him joy. He had an undeniable love for food, often delighting in the spicy kick of jalapeños that he insisted on adding to every meal. His heart warmed with every visit to the valley, especially most recently, where he relished strengthening the bonds with his beloved great-grandchildren, creating memories that will endure for generations.

He was a lifetime member of the Alamosa Elk's Lodge, serving in many positions from member to Exalted Ruler. He truly loved the fraternal bonds he built with his Elk's Lodge. He was also an instrumental part of the new Alamosa Senior Center and took great pride in seeing that project come together.

At his wish, cremation will take place and his ashes will be laid to rest with his wife in Arlington National Cemetery at a later time.

He will be deeply missed, but his stories, teachings, and warmth will forever be a guiding presence in the hearts of those he loved.
