It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lawrence Pacheco, a beloved father, brother, and friend, who left us on January 7, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on May 7, 1950, in Del Norte, Colorado, Lawrence was a true son of the valley, devoted to a life of hard work, family, and the great outdoors.
Lawrence spent many years as a logger, working diligently at Southwest Forest Industries which later became known as Stone Container in South Fork, Colorado. His dedication to his craft was matched only by his love for nature-whether it was hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying the beauty of the world around him. He could often be found farming or watching traffic in town, always ready to share a smile and a story with anyone who crossed his path.
Lawrence is survived by his devoted family: his brothers Modesto (Helen) Pacheco and Timothy (Brandi) Pacheco, his sisters, Kathy (Steve) Lujan and Barbara (Mark) Ulrich, his nieces and nephews Diane Pacheco, Joseph (Bernadette) Pacheco, Arthur (Paula) Pacheco, Janelle (Colt) Creamer, Peggy lujan, Bobby Lujan, Margarit (Donald) Briggs, Kayla Ulrich, Brandon (Krista) Pacheco, Karlee (Mario) Rodriguez, his great nieces and nephews; Marcus, Vance, Christian, Kolten, Kiahna, Kamrynn, Kynlie, Jadeyn, Justyn and Jareyn. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit and will deeply miss his warmth and laughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Christina Valdez, sisters; Ernestine (Danny) Valdez, Betty Pacheco, Louise Valdez, Cecilia (Rudy) Gonzales, his brothers; Chris (Marcella) Pacheco, Toby Pacheco, Ben Pacheco and Robert Pacheco.
As we say goodbye to a true outdoorsman and loving family member, we are reminded of the impact he had on all our lives. Rest in peace, Lawrence; you will be dearly missed.
